There are essentially two types of child custody:

  • Legal custody gives the parent the ability to make important decisions about the child's health care, education and welfare.
  • Physical custody gives the parent physical control of the child.

Each of these types of child custody can be provided to a parent in the form of joint custody or sole custody. Joint means that the duties are shared between the parents. Sole custody means that only one parent is responsible for the child.

We will help you determine what form of custody is most appropriate for you and your child. To do this, we will take the time to learn about you, your child, and each of your needs. We are ready to listen to and address your concerns. As we move forward, every step we take will be one step closer to meeting your goals.
